One of the aspects that makes using the Pen tool so challenging is that you don’t get a visual of what shape your line is taking until after you add the next point to the canvas. But there is a useful feature that will solve that dilemma-the Rubber Band. With the Rubber Band option selected, Photoshop will give you an interactive preview of what your next line segment will look like. To activate the Rubber Band option, select the Pen tool from the Tools panel, and on the tool options bar, click on the icon that looks like a control wheel. In the pop-up window select Rubber Band. Next, click on your canvas to start drawing with the Pen tool, and as you move the mouse to create the next segment, you’ll see a preview of your line before you add the point to the canvas.
